Sharlene Mak's work experience begins in 2013 when they worked as a Physical Therapy Intern at both Merwick Rehabilitation Center and the Center for Advanced Pain Management and Rehabilitation. In 2013, they also started as a Project Assistant at New Jersey's Regional Extension Center AT NJIT NEWARK, where they worked until 2015.

In 2015, Mak transitioned to the New Jersey Innovation Institute, where they held various roles. Sharlene started as a Healthcare Quality Initiatives Analyst (Analyst 1) in July 2015 and worked in this position until March 2016. Sharlene then became a Quality Improvement Advisor (Analyst 2) from March 2016 to March 2018. From March 2018 to December 2019, they served as a Senior Quality Improvement Advisor (Analyst 3), where they planned and launched a Pop-Up clinic, validated cost savings, and represented the organization at national events. Lastly, Mak worked as a Senior Analyst (Analyst 4) from January 2020 to September 2020, where they ensured accurate reporting for a payment program and managed a contract with Aetna Inc.

Most recently, Mak joined Andor Health in September 2020 as an Enterprise Program Manager, a role they currently hold.

Sharlene Mak obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2011-2015. Sharlene then pursued a Master's Degree in Healthcare Systems Management from the same institution in 2015-2017. Finally, they completed their education by earning a Master of Business Administration in Management Information Systems, General from the New Jersey Institute of Technology in 2018-2020.
