Ben Portney

Ben Portney serves as an Investment Partner at Andreessen Horowitz since March 2022, bringing extensive experience in biotechnology investments. Previously, Portney held various roles at Flagship Pioneering from June 2018 to March 2022, including Senior Associate and VentureLabs Fellow. Prior experience includes working as an Equity Research Extern at T. Rowe Price and a Research Analyst at Actinium Capital, where analysis focused on clinical trial data and market landscapes for biotechnology companies. Portney holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland Baltimore and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Maryland.
