John's earliest career role was as a Distribution Marketing Manager at The Arizona Republic from September 2005 to May 2009, where they were responsible for developing and executing circulation and marketing strategies for multiple products.
John Chowning earned a B.A. in English from Arizona State University West between the years 2001 and 2003. In addition to their degree, they obtained certifications in 2016 and 2017. John became a Certified Cicerone® through the Cicerone Certification Program in November 2016, and they also became a Certified Professional Category Analyst through the Category Management Association in September 2017.
