Marcelo Elias

Marcelo Elias currently serves as Vice-President of ANFAVEA, with expertise in regulatory, tax, technological, labor, environmental issues, and international agreements in the automotive sector since May 2015. Prior to this role, Marcelo held the position of Legal Director & Institutional Relations at CAOA from November 2013 to June 2024, overseeing legal matters across multiple divisions and managing a legal department of around 30 professionals. Additionally, Marcelo was a board member at CAOA Chery from January 2018 to May 2022, and served as General Counsel at The Exxel Group | Nexxy Capital, where responsibilities included due diligence and technology acquisitions. Early career experiences included a role at TozziniFreire Advogados and a traineeship at Itaú Unibanco. Marcelo's educational background includes a PhD in Constitutional and Tax Law from IDP, an LL.M in Commercial Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science, and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro.
