Laura Houston

Laura Houston is an experienced professional in the field of animal welfare and education, currently serving as the Executive Director at the Animal Welfare Association since May 2022. Prior to this role, Laura held the position of Director of Education at Elmwood Park Zoo from May 2018 to May 2022, and spent 16 years at Philadelphia Zoo in various educational leadership roles including Director of Education and Training, Director of School, Public and Youth Programs, and Director of Public Programs. Laura holds a Master of Arts in English from Rutgers University - Camden and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Rutgers University.
