Ryan Kerwin has a diverse background in the field of technology. Ryan started their career in 2011 as a Robotics Institute Summer Scholar at Carnegie Mellon University. In 2012, they joined Georgia Institute of Technology as a Graduate Research Assistant, where they conducted research in brain-computer interface applications and wearable technology. At the same time, they also served as a Teaching Assistant for undergraduate classes.
In 2014, Ryan co-founded Animantis, a biotechnology startup, where they held the role of Chief Technology Officer. As CTO, they played a crucial role in setting technological standards for the company and integrating new tools to optimize workflow. Ryan'saccomplishments include leading the development of a reusable codebase for cell tracking and analysis, creating company standards for data processing and result delivery, and prototyping improvements such as migration to cloud-based applications.
Ryan also gained industry experience as a Summer Graduate Intern at Steelcase in 2014. There, they explored opportunities for wearable devices in an office furniture manufacturing setting and collaborated with APX Labs (now Upskill) to prototype Google Glass applications.

Ryan Kerwin pursued their education in a consistent manner, starting with their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Macalester College, where they attended from 2008 to 2012. Following this, they went on to pursue a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science at the Georgia Institute of Technology, completing the program from 2012 to 2014.
