Xiong Lau has over 25 years of experience in IT, starting in 1994 as an IT Consultant for Tamzen Media Inc. During this time, Xiong provided IT consulting services and managed various IT infrastructure components such as Xen Hypervisors, VMware vSphere clusters, and Asterisk Telephone Systems.
In 2014, Xiong joined GrandCare Systems as an IT/Customer Services Support, where they continued to design and manage virtualization technologies, network systems, and Microsoft Active Directory services. Xiong also provided direct customer support and services to end-users of GrandCare products.
In 2015, Xiong worked as an IT Administrator at Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel, where they were responsible for deploying and managing a variety of IT infrastructure components such as VMware vSphere clusters, network IDS/IPS, and wireless networks. Xiong also designed and managed firewall systems and backup appliances.
From 2016 to 2017, Xiong served as an IT Network Administrator at Wisconsin Hospitality Group, responsible for managing and maintaining their IT network infrastructure.
Following that, Xiong joined OneTouchPoint in 2017 as a System Administrator, where they managed and maintained physical and virtual Windows and Linux servers in a VMware ESXi environment. Xiong also ensured proper backup and replication of servers and monitored system performance and availability.
In 2018, Xiong joined GE Healthcare as a Network Infrastructure Engineer and VMware Support, responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting networks, configuring networks for optimal operation, and supporting engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle. Xiong also planned and implemented VMware installations and updated equipment in test environments.
Currently, Xiong works at Anju Software as an Infrastructure Engineer, where they design, deploys, and manages VMware ESXi hypervisors, as well as Azure, AWS, and Hyper-V virtualization technologies. Xiong also deploys and maintains Windows VM instances and IIS certificates in Azure and AWS environments.
Xiong Lau attended Marquette University High School from 1986 to 1989 and obtained a diploma in General Studies. Later, from 1989 to 1992, Xiong enrolled in Northwestern University with a focus on Computer Science, but ultimately withdrew without completing a degree. Xiong then pursued higher education once again from 2011 to 2013 at Northcentral Technical College, where they earned an Associate's degree in Information Technology.
