Derek Stevens

Derek Stevens is an experienced leader in project management and operational oversight, currently serving as the Scott Base Leader for Antarctica New Zealand for the 2024/25 summer season. With a strong background in project advisory and leadership through ownership of Macquarie Projects Ltd since May 2022, Derek has previously held key roles such as Operations Project Lead and Station Leader at the Australian Antarctic Division, as well as General Manager Project Delivery at DIALOG Fitzroy Ltd. Derek's extensive experience includes delivering high-value projects, notably on the Australian Navy's AWD shipbuilding initiative at Raytheon Australia, and leadership positions in the aviation security sector at Smiths Detection. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Project Management and Military Technology from UNSW and a Bachelor’s degree in History & Politics from UNSW.
