Michael Smith has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Michael began their career at Halliburton in 2002 as a Stimulation and Cementing Field Engineer and Account Representative, where they served as a dedicated in-house completion engineer and sales representative for EnCana Oil & Gas. Michael later moved on to Caterpillar Inc., where they worked as an Engineer and achieved Six Sigma Black Belt certification. At Halliburton, they then worked as an Account Leader and Senior Account Representative, representing all product lines and optimizing sales potential. Michael joined U.S. Silica Company in 2011 and held leadership positions, including Director of Sales for North America, responsible for the sale of hydraulic fracturing proppants. In 2014, they founded a non-profit corporation called Christ's Provisions, Inc., where they currently serve as President, overseeing various projects and managing annual budgets. Finally, in 2018, they joined Antero Resources as a Vice President of Logistics & Cost Management, leading teams in financial analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
Michael Smith attended Purdue University from 1998 to 2001, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural and Biological Engineering. Michael then pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in International Business from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, which they completed from 2005 to 2008. In 2009, they briefly attended the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University for a program called Business Leadership Development I. Recently, in 2021, Michael enrolled at Colorado Christian University to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Biblical Studies, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
