Partner, Head of ESG & Human Rights at Wallbrook at Anthesis

Mariana Abreu currently serves as the Global Lead for Human Rights at Anthesis Group, where oversight of the Global Human Rights service line and leadership of UK/EMEA Social Impact initiatives is a key focus. Previously, Mariana held the position of Partner and Head of ESG & Human Rights at Wallbrook, providing expertise in ESG and human rights due diligence, and contributing to projects in Latin America and Africa. Mariana has also worked as an Investigator at Global Witness, uncovering human rights abuses and corruption, and as a Campaigner at Amnesty International, where strategic advocacy led to increased pressure on the Angolan government. Early career experience includes roles at UNHCR, the Permanent Mission of Brazil to the UN in Geneva, and as an Associate Lawyer at Mattos Filho. Educational qualifications include an MA in Human Rights and Humanitarian Action from Sciences Po and a BA in Law from Pontifícia Universidade Católica de São Paulo.
