Stuart Mclachlan

Stuart has spent over 25 years developing market leading businesses in the sustainability consulting and services space, completing over 20 acquisitions and building businesses organically in more than 20 countries.

In 2013, Stuart co-founded Anthesis Consulting Group Ltd. Using capital raised from the management team and a ‘high net worth’ network, the business has grown to over 450 people across several continents, with a client portfolio that includes many FTSE 100 and Fortune 500 Companies. The ambition is to become the global market leader in making organisations more sustainable and more prosperous.

Stuart believes that companies that manage their environmental and social performance have superior financial performance, they create more value for their shareholders and that this agenda is at the heart of creating value for all stakeholders over the long term.

As a member of the Environment Leadership Team of Business in the Community, Stuart has chaired the Visioning the Future, Transforming Business program. He is active in the transition towards the circular economy, seeking new more resilient business models, and in seeking new business opportunities for win-win change.

Past experience includes 16 years developing WSP’s Environment and Energy business – building it from a start-up in WSP Group PLC to one of the leading global consultancies in the sector with over 1000 staff in 15 countries. For 6 year,s from 2006 to the merger with GENIVAR the Canadian consultancy, Stuart also served as a PLC Director on the board of WSP Group.
