Ebony Brown has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Ebony started their career as a Summer Enterprise Consultant at Land O'Lakes, Inc. in 2014, where they designed a business incubation curriculum for agriculture technology start-ups in Tanzania. This program gained recognition from MIT D-Labs and was replicated in other countries.

In 2014, Ebony joined the University of Michigan Social Venture Fund as the Education Circle Director. During their time there, they focused on education initiatives and played a key role in program implementation.

Starting in 2015, Ebony began working at Village Capital, a seed stage venture fund and entrepreneur support organization. Ebony held several positions, including Senior Associate, Senior Manager of US Ventures, and Director of US Ventures. In these roles, they designed and implemented strategies for sourcing, training, and investing in entrepreneurs across various sectors. Ebony also managed multi-million dollar budgets and oversaw the development and delivery of US programs.

Since 2019, Ebony has held multiple board positions. Ebony served as a Board Director at AllHere, BrightHive, Abl, and CareAcademy, where they provided guidance and support to these organizations.

In 2021, Ebony joined Anthill as a Board Director, and in 2022, they became a member of Class 27 at Kauffman Fellows.

Most recently, Ebony has been a Partner at Rethink Education since October 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Principal at the same company from February 2019 to September 2021.

Throughout their career, Ebony has displayed strong leadership and strategic skills, and they have been involved in various aspects of entrepreneurship, education, and venture capital.
