Mark Melikian has been in the engineering industry since 2009. Mark began their career as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Precision Engine Controls, where they designed test fixtures for product qualification tests and executed in-house and outside testing per customer standards and various industry specifications. In 2011, they moved to W. P. Keith Company INC as a Mechanical Engineer & Project Manager, where they directed construction of industrial furnaces from initial kick-off until delivery to customer, instructed shop personnel on design nuances and proper construction processes, and designed structures, refractories, heating systems, and ventilation systems for furnaces ranging in power from 9 kilo-Watts to 440 kilo-Watts. In 2013, they joined em-glass as a Mechanical Engineer, where they engineered cold-end machinery for use in the manufacturing of float glass and generated novel concepts tailored for specific customer proposals. In 2014, they moved to Alphabet Energy as a Product Development Engineer, where they modeled, specified, designed, built, and tested thermoelectric generators using Alphabet's novel materials and modules. In the same year, they also joined W. P. Keith Company INC as a Project Engineer / Temporary Contractor, where they managed the design and construction of a bottom drop furnace for heat treating aluminum aircraft parts, created detailed drawings and distributed to shop floor in a timely and organized manner, and redesigned previously used mechanisms to fit new customer requirements. Finally, in 2017, they joined Solar Turbines as a Principal Fuel Systems Engineer, Principal Controls Design Engineer, and Senior Controls Design Engineer. In 2022, they moved to Antora Energy as a Sr. Thermal Mechanical Engineer.
Mark Melikian received their high school education before attending UC San Diego, where they earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2010. Mark then obtained an Engineer In Training certification from the California Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, and Geologists in April 2012. Mark is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
