Robin Verschueren has a diverse work experience starting from being a Job Student at VITO, where they assisted the network administrator in analyzing network usage and proposing optimizations. They also worked as a Tutor in Mathematics and Statistics at Sagio.be and as an Intern at Siemens PLM Software, where they prepared a demonstrator on automatic racecars using advanced control techniques for a booth presentation at a conference.
Robin then joined Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau as a PHD Researcher, specializing in a research role from 2014 to 2018. During this time, they also had a research stay at ABB in 2016. They later worked at ABB as a Scientist from 2018 to 2021.
In 2017, Robin had the opportunity to be a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, collaborating with Professor Stephen Boyd on cvxpy, a domain-specific language for convex optimization.
Their most recent position is as a Robotics Software Engineer at ANYbotics, starting in 2021.
Additionally, Robin has been involved in extracurricular activities such as being a Member of the Board and Webmaster for the KU Leuven university orchestra, organizing activities and managing the orchestra's website. They also volunteered for Pukkelpop.
Robin Verschueren completed their education at three different institutions. They began their academic journey at European School Mol, where they studied Maths and Fundamental Sciences from 1994 to 2009. After that, they attended KU Leuven and obtained a Master of Science in Engineering in Mathematical Engineering, which took place from 2009 to 2014. Lastly, Robin Verschueren pursued their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD at The University of Freiburg, specializing in Control and Optimization, from 2014 to 2018.
