Colin Chilles

Colin Chilles is a highly experienced professional in polymer processing and materials testing, currently serving as the Laboratory Manager at AO Recycling since September 2019, where Colin oversees operations at a new plastics separation plant. With a longstanding affiliation with Smithers Rapra Ltd. since October 2004, Colin has held various roles including Technical Leader, Manager of Manufacturing and Processing, and Senior Research Technologist, contributing to numerous research projects and managing client interactions. Previous experience includes roles at Albemarle Corporation as Shift Supervisor, overseeing chemical plant operations, and Albright & Wilson, where Colin developed formulations and patented stabilisation packages. Colin Chilles holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Chemistry from Edinburgh Napier University, completed in 1989.
