Xavier Jouven has a diverse work experience focused on research and academia. Xavier is currently a Member of the North-South Working Group at The Guild of European Research-Intensive Universities. Previously, Xavier served as the Head of Department of Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery, Nephrology & Transplantation at Université Paris Cité, where they also worked as a Professor. Xavier founded and led the Paris Sudden Death Expertise Center at AP-HP, Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris. Additionally, Xavier co-founded the African Research Network for non-communicable diseases. Xavier also served as a Member of the Scientific Council at Inserm.

Xavier Jouven obtained their PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Université Paris-Saclay from 1997 to 2000. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Statistics in Mathematics and Statistics at Université Paris-Saclay from 1987 to 1990. Xavier also pursued Medical Studies in Medicine at Université Paris Cité from 1983 to 1989.
