Giulia Orazi, PhD, is an experienced microbiologist currently serving as an APHL-CDC Infectious Disease Laboratory Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, focusing on antibiotic resistance of healthcare-associated bacterial pathogens. Previously, Giulia Orazi conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, investigating mobile genetic elements associated with Neisseria species and fostering collaborations to address public health challenges. As a graduate researcher at Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, Giulia Orazi completed a dissertation on polymicrobial interactions and antibiotic sensitivity. Early career experiences include research internships and laboratory assistance in notable institutions, earning several scholarships and awards for academic and service contributions. Giulia Orazi holds a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Geisel School of Medicine and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Barnard College.
