Reshma Kakkar

Reshma Kakkar is the Manager of Global Health Informatics at the Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) since January 2016, with a previous role as a Board Member at The OpenELIS Foundation from January 2012 to December 2015. Kakkar has significant experience as a Senior Consultant at The St. John Group and has played a critical role in various public health laboratory initiatives, including leading the Laboratory Efficiencies Project at APHL and coordinating global code base establishment for the OpenELIS system. Further expertise includes work with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in multiple capacities, influencing laboratory information systems both in the U.S. and internationally, particularly in Vietnam and various African countries. Kakkar's academic background includes a Master of Arts from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Fergusson College.
