Vera Makarov is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in entrepreneurship, investment management, and corporate governance. Currently serving as Mexico Co-Chair for 50/50 Women on Boards, Vera focuses on promoting gender balance and diversity in corporate boardrooms. As a Breakthrough Innovation Board Member at PepsiCo, Vera facilitates the company's pursuit of new market opportunities by leveraging start-up agility alongside operational excellence. Vera co-founded and serves as Co-CEO of Apli, a company that dramatically reduces hiring times for clients, and previously held key leadership roles including CEO of foodpanda Mexico, CEO and Founder of Lamudi, and Co-Founder of Carmudi.com. Earlier career highlights include serving as an Investment Manager at Bamboo Capital Partners, where Vera managed significant impact investments, and roles at Village Ventures and Bain Capital Credit, enhancing expertise in emerging markets and investment management. Vera holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge, and an A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard University.
