Mahender Mandala has an extensive work experience in the fields of research, teaching, and product design. Mahender started their career in 2009 as a Graduate Research Assistant and Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Kansas. Mahender then moved to the University of Pittsburgh in 2011, where they held various roles such as Visiting Assistant Professor, Instructor - Product Design and Development, Postdoctoral Associate, Graduate Student Researcher, Teaching Assistant for Rehabilitation Engineering Design, and Teaching Assistant for Metal Working and Prototyping Machine Shop. In 2019, they founded and became the President of Adaptive Bioware Inc. and also worked as a Lecturer and Research Scientist at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Apollo Neuro as the Director of Clinical and Product Research.
Mahender Mandala has a diverse educational background. Mahender earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Rehabilitation Science from the University of Pittsburgh, an M.S. (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Kansas, and a B.E. (Distinction) in Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University. Mahender is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
