Ahmed Hammad has over 12 years of work experience. Ahmed began their career in 2007 as a Computer Programmer at Braebon Medical Corporation, where they designed a desktop application used to parse and modify a proprietary file-type. In the same year, they moved to Mitel as a Software Developer, where they developed a web-based tool used as part of the build automation process. In 2008, they joined IBM as a Technical Analyst. In 2009, they returned to Alcatel-Lucent as a Software Developer, where they developed various tools used by employees to simplify and speed-up internal processes. Ahmed also designed and developed a search engine implemented using the Solr/Lucene search platform, Java, and HTML. In 2010, they were promoted to Engineering Lead, where they led a team of developers and testers, managed day-to-day aspects including requirements analysis and sprint planning, and worked with various teams to gather and compile requirements. In 2013, they joined CENX as an Engineering Lead, where they designed, developed, and deployed proof of concept features and deployments used in pre-sales engagements and trade shows. In 2018, they became an Independent Consultant at GPDD Inc. and an Engineering Lead at App8.
Ahmed Hammad completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical from Carleton University between 2004 and 2010.
