Sonya Bergman

Sonya Bergman is the Chief People Officer at Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH), a position held since October 2019. In this role, Sonya oversees the strategy and vision for ARH's overall people strategy, encompassing human resource strategies, labor and employee relations, benefits and wellness, talent acquisition, and employee experience. Prior to this role, Sonya served as Vice President of Human Resources at ARH from 2006 to October 2019, and held positions as System Director of Human Resources and Director of HR Strategic Initiatives. Sonya holds a Master's degree in Public Administration with a focus on Hospital and Health Care Facilities Administration/Management from the University of Kentucky, where studies were conducted from 1985 to 1987.
