Alex MacDonald

Alex Macdonald is a Software Developer with extensive experience in various roles within the tech industry. Currently employed at Appara since February 2021, Alex has previously served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at The University of British Columbia, assisting students with system calls, virtual memory, and multi-threading assignments. In a brief tenure at Bandit Labs, Alex developed software to collect tweets using the Twitter Filtered Stream API and stored them in Amazon DynamoDB. Previously, at Honda Research Institute Japan Co. Ltd., Alex focused on machine learning for Named Entity Recognition using the Pytorch library. Alex also contributed to the development of a web server for internal SDK at Eastman Kodak Company. Alex holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of British Columbia, earned in 2020.
