Ian Mackay

Ian Mackay has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as the Chief Executive Officer at Apparo Inc. since January 2020. Prior to this, they served as the CEO at Zea10, LLC from November 2013 to December 2019. While at Zea10, they successfully developed and commercialized a method to produce highly soluble and pleasant tasting protein isolates from spent brewers grains in collaboration with AB InBev. Before joining Zea10, Ian Mackay worked as the CTO at Rational Energies from April 2006 to December 2019.

Ian Mackay has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Tufts University and a Master of Science degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology. Ian also holds a Master of Public Affairs degree from the University of Minnesota. Additionally, they have completed an MBA program at the University of Minnesota - Carlson School of Management.
