Hector Salas

Hector is a consulting member of Appian 's technical team, evaluating and providing recommendations on project opportunities. He is a Senior Geologist with over 40 years of experience in the mining industry across the Americas (Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Colombia, US, Canada), with a strong focus on Mexico.

Prior to his role at Appian, Hector has held various development and project management positions in the mining industry, including Operations Manager at drilling companies; Senior Geologist at Impact Minerals and Candelaria Mining; Regional Offices Coordinator for the Mexican Geological Service; Geology and Exploration Director at Sierra Metals and at Core Gold Inc; and Geology and Exploration Manager at Goldresource Corp. Hector has worked across all major metallogenic belts in Mexico, either as a geologist, head of exploration, regional coordinator or operations manager and this across base and precious metals projects.

Hector is a Mexican national and holds a Bachelor Geologist degree from the National Polytechnic Institute in Mexico City. Hector is a member of the Association of Mining Engineers, Metallurgists and Geologists of Mexico, A.C.
