Dane Rooney

Dane Rooney is an accomplished educator and playwright with extensive experience in the arts and theater. Currently serving as an Adjunct Professor at Lackawanna College since August 2021, Dane teaches an introductory art class that covers various aspects of art history, modern art, composition, writing, photography, and creation. Dane has held the position of Usher at Lincoln Center Theater since February 2017, providing front-of-house support and participating in special events. Additional roles include Lead Server at Applebee's since August 2015, and involvement in theater as a Novel Reader for the James Jones First Novel Fellowship Contest. Dane's notable playwright contributions include winning Best Play for "ANONYMOUS RECIPES" at the Woodside Players 2020 Summer Festival and producing the holiday play "YOU'RE GONNA GET COAL FOR CHRISTMAS!" as part of Downtown Shenandoah Inc. Dane holds an MFA in Playwriting and Screenwriting and a MA in Creative Writing from Wilkes University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature with a focus on Creative Writing from Bloomsburg University.
