Peter Colegate

Peter Colegate has a diverse work experience in the technology and legal sectors. Peter currently holds multiple roles at Appleby, including Global Head of the Technology and Innovation Group, Partner, and Counsel, where they have been working since 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Associate at Hogan Lovells, specializing in technology, media, and telecoms law. Peter also served as a Director and Founding Board Member at the Blockchain Association of the Cayman Islands, was a Member of the Cayman Islands Government Working Group on Data Protection, and was a Member of the Cayman Finance Innovation Lab. Before their current positions, they worked as a Legal Counsel at Turner and as a Senior Associate at Russell-Cooke solicitors.

Peter Colegate attended Keele University, where they pursued a LLB (Joint Honours) degree, though specific dates are not provided. In 2008, they enrolled in Nottingham Trent University to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Commercial Intellectual Property, which they obtained in 2009. Following this, they pursued a Master of Laws (LLM) in Commercial Intellectual Property at Nottingham Trent University from 2009 to 2011. In terms of additional certifications, Peter became a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society and the Fintech Professionals Association in 2017.
