Joe Shafer

Joe Shafer has an extensive work experience in the political field. Joe served as the President of Applecart since 2019 and previously worked as the IE Director for the Democratic Governors Association from 2016 to 2018. Joe also held the position of Executive Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf in 2015. Before that, Joe was the Campaign Manager for Tom Wolf for Governor from 2013 to 2014, and the Campaign Manager for Governor Tomblin, West Virginia from 2011 to 2012. Joe served as the Northeast Political Director for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2009 to 2011 and as the Executive Director of PA HDCC from 2008 to 2009. Joe also has experience as a Campaign Manager for various political campaigns, including No on I-960 in 2007, Zack Space for Congress (OH-18) in 2006, and Tammy Duckworth for Congress (IL-6) in 2005.
