Yukio Watanabe

Engineering at Applied Intuition

Yukio Watanabe has extensive work experience in the engineering field. Yukio started working at Applied Intuition in 2022, where they hold an engineering role. Prior to that, they worked at the Mechanical Simulation Corporation from 1998 onwards. At the Mechanical Simulation Corporation, they held various roles including Senior Development and Consulting Engineer. In this position, they developed high fidelity computational models of vehicle dynamics, powertrain, and tire using computer languages C and LISP. Yukio also led the development of the motorcycle simulation program BikeSim and interfaces between vehicle dynamics software and third-party programs. Additionally, they worked as an Onsite Consultant at General Motors R&D from October 1998 to July 2000 and as an Onsite Consultant at Aisin New-Hard from June 1998 to October 1998.

Yukio Watanabe obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Industrial Technology and Mechanical Engineering from Nihon University from 1988 to 1992. From 1992 to 1994, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Industrial Technology at the same institution. Following this, from 1994 to 1998, Watanabe attended Cranfield University and obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in the School of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Automotive Studies.
