Dennis Miller has over 25 years of experience in the field of mechanical design engineering. Dennis began their career in 1995 as a Detailer at Comau, where they detailed drawings for B. I. W. In 1999, they joined KUKA Systems North America as a Mechanical Designer. In this role, they collaborated with clients and the Design Lead to execute customer design projects in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining strict adherence to customer requirements across several projects. Dennis utilized CAD modeling to streamline the design process, implementing automation to the process when applicable to provide accurate results with an emphasis on efficiency.
In 2002, Dennis moved to Utica Enterprises as a Mechanical Designer. In this role, they oversaw the implementation and execution of designs from concept to completion, collaborating to produce hands-on solutions to design issues during execution. Dennis interacted directly with customers to develop comprehensive designs, keeping an open line of communication to quickly make design improvements.
In 2004, Dennis returned to Applied Manufacturing Technologies as a Mechanical Designer and Simulator. As a Mechanical Designer, they assumed responsibility for specialty design projects, collaborating closely with customers to determine project requirements in addition to establishing budgets and timelines. As a Simulator, they created and implemented simulations for robots on the transfer line to execute specific placement and welding tasks within an established time frame.
In 2013, Dennis joined Ascent Aerospace as a Mechanical Designer. Here, they cooperated cross-functionally with clients, internal design teams, and project managers to determine budgets, timelines, and project plans to deliver customer requirements in a timely manner. Dennis drove projects by designing layup mandrels, fixture assembly rigs, and transportable assembly jigs for projects in the aerospace industry. Dennis also created and implemented design process improvements, using relational design strategies to increase efficiency and reduce overall time in the design process.
Most recently, in 2021, Dennis returned to Applied Manufacturing Technologies as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
Dennis Miller received their High School Diploma from Holly High School in 1989. Between 1994 and 1996, they attended both Oakland Community College and ITT Technical Institute-Troy, where they earned a Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting Technologies.
