Ananda Sankar Kundu

Ananda Sankar Kundu, PhD, is a highly skilled robotics and automation professional with extensive experience in advanced engineering roles. Currently serving as a Senior Staff Engineer at Applied Materials since November 2019, Ananda previously held the position of Lead Engineer, AI & Aerial Land Robotics at Mahindra Rise, focusing on agricultural robotics technologies. Previous roles include Principal Robotics Engineer at Dimension NXG, where responsibilities involved designing a teleoperation robot and calibrating IMUs for AR applications. Ananda earned a PhD in Mechatronics, Robotics, and Automation Engineering from the Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology (IIEST), Shibpur, where a doctoral thesis centered on an intelligent wheelchair for dynamic navigation. Additional academic qualifications include an MTech in Mechatronics and a BTech in Electronics & Communication Engineering. Ananda also founded the Advanced Robotics and Electronics Laboratory, providing engineering solutions in automation and robotics.
