Michael Cosgrove

Michael Cosgrove has over 30 years of experience in operations research programming and analysis. Michael began their career at CACI Products Company in 1992, where they designed and developed algorithms for the Air Force campaign analysis model THUNDER. Michael also assisted in campaign analysis efforts using THUNDER. From 1995 to 2004, they worked at System Simulation Solutions, Inc., where they further developed algorithms for THUNDER and designed models for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and space assets. During this time, they also designed and developed utilities and ground war algorithms for the Common Analytic Simulation Architecture (CASA) and the Air Force campaign analysis model STORM. In 2004, they joined Group W as an Operations Research Programmer/Analyst, where they led a team in redesigning and enhancing the Army COSAGE model using CASA. Michael also designed and developed ground war algorithms for the campaign analysis simulation STORM and statistical analysis tools for decision analysis. In 2022, they joined ARA as a Principal Software Engineer.

Michael Cosgrove earned their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science from Virginia Tech. Michael then went on to George Mason University, where they obtained their Master of Science (MS) degree in Operations Research. Michael attended Virginia Tech from 1985 to 1989 and George Mason University from 1990 to 1992.
