Cory Michal has extensive work experience in the field of information security. Starting in 1998, they worked as a Network Administrator at Buckstaff Corporation. From 2000 to 2004, they served as the Information Security Practice Director at Oracular Inc., where they were responsible for network administration and application development. Cory then worked as a Senior Information Security Consultant at Exceed Security from 2004 to 2006. Following that, Cory joined Kohler Co. as a Senior Information Security Architect, where they worked until 2012. During their time at Salesforce from 2012 to 2017, they held various roles such as Information Security Director and Senior Director, Information Security, where they built top-caliber security teams and implemented strategic objectives in vulnerability management and offensive security. In 2014, Cory founded Fallon Place Wines, a small winery in San Francisco. Cory sourced grapes from sustainably farmed vineyards in Sonoma County and focused on producing high-quality wines. In 2020, they joined Akili as the Senior Director of Information Security and later became the Vice President of Information Security. Currently, Cory is the Vice President of Security & IT at AppOmni since April 2023.
Cory Michal completed a Certificate Program in Viticulture and Enology with a focus on winemaking at the University of California, Davis from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, Cory obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh from 1999 to 2002, where they also studied Computer Science.
