Mehmet Akalın

Mehmet Akalın has a diverse range of work experience, with roles in various industries and positions of responsibility. Mehmet started their career at Marubeni Corporation in 2012, where they researched different industries and modeled scenarios for the company's financial and industrial future. Mehmet then worked at Kraft Foods, where they were involved in marketing and created monthly marketing reports for the candy department. Akalın also had a role as a partner at Yollasana, an online shipping marketplace, where they were responsible for project management and process improvement. Mehmet later joined Hello7, an ed-tech platform, as a partner and played a hands-on role in launching the product and overseeing its acquisition. Akalın then worked as a business developer and director at BIC Angel Investments, an investment firm that provided venture capital for startups in the software industry. Mehmet played a crucial role in evaluating and making investment decisions, considering various strategic and financial factors. Before their current role, Mehmet Akalın worked as an associate at Techstars, where they actively supported early-stage startups and contributed to their growth. Mehmet is currently working as the Chief Business Innovator at Appsilon Enterprise, where they are involved in recreating the earth's processes to grow lab diamonds.

Mehmet Akalın obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from Sabanci University, which they completed from 2008 to 2013. In 2012, they also briefly attended Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) for their Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree, with a specialization in Marketing. Mehmet later pursued a Master's Degree in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from the University of Sussex, which they completed in 2015. In addition to their formal education, Mehmet Akalın also obtained a certification in Growth Hacking from Growth Tribe Academy in the year 2019.
