Michael Hegland

Michael Hegland is a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience in design and engineering across various industries. Currently employed at Aqua Metals, Inc. since April 2022, Michael is involved in creating mechanical structures for an innovative battery metals recycling process. Prior to this role, Michael worked as a Driveline Engineer at Dorman Products and served as a Powertrain Engineer at Bobcat Company, focusing on new product launches and optimization within driveline and powertrain systems. Experience as a Plumbing Engineer at Spartan Motors, Inc. entailed designing plumbing systems for firetrucks, while earlier work included custom projects at Daktronics as a Student Engineer. Michael holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from South Dakota State University, where tutoring in mathematics also formed part of the educational experience.
