Peter Wakefield

Peter Wakefield has extensive experience in the aquaculture industry, with a focus on sustainability and ESG practices. Peter is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer of AquaPrawnics, where they are leading the development of the largest closed contained indoor prawn production system in the USA. Prior to their current role, Peter held various positions in different companies. Peter was Chairman, Board Member, and Trustee at Balwin Developed, a residential property estate. Peter served as the CEO of Wild Coast Salmon, a global seafood production group, and as the Chief Technology Officer at Dunkeld Trout Egg Hatchery, the largest ova production facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Peter was a founding member, MD, and board member of SAFISH, a commercial seafood operation, and held the position of VP and Head of Operations at MULTI FISH. Peter also worked as the Global Brand Manager at AquaSearch A/S and the European Sales and Marketing Director at Troutlodge Inc. Peter's career in the aquaculture industry began as the European Sales and Marketing Manager at Aquazure Hatcheries, the largest certified trout ova producer in the Southern Hemisphere.

Peter Wakefield's education history includes:

1. Rhodes University: Peter started studying Social Psychology but has not yet completed their Bachelor's degree.

2. QHSE Learning by The QHSE Group: In 2022, Peter completed a course on Integrated Management System Auditing and obtained a qualification in Integrated Quality Management Assurance, Environmental Management, and Occupational Health and Safety.

3. Duke University: In 2021, Peter obtained a Diploma in Sustainable Development Goals for Business, focusing on Impact Measurement and Management for SDGs.

4. Stellenbosch University: In 2007, Peter received a Diploma in HACCP Management, specializing in Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points.

5. London Computer College: In 1996, Peter obtained an NVQ 111 certification in Information Technology.

In addition to these educational qualifications, Peter obtained a certification in Integrated Management System Internal Auditing (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018) from Quality Health & Safety and Environment Courses. Peter obtained this certification in October 2022.
