Joshua Xu has a diverse work experience in software engineering, starting with their current role as a Software Engineer at Aquatic Capital Management. Prior to this, they were a Software Engineer at Meta, where they coauthored a PEP for the Python type system and implemented improvements to VS Code features. Joshua also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Bloomberg LP, leading the development of a bond recommendation tool. Before entering the software industry, Joshua served as a Resident Assistant at Duke Housing, Dining, and Residential Life, an Engineering Technician at Engineering World Health, and a Teaching Assistant at Duke University. Joshua also gained experience as an Electrical Engineering Summer Associate at Medtronic, a Summer Research Intern at Duke, and a Science and Engineering Apprenticeship Intern at Stennis Space Center.
Joshua Xu received their high school diploma from Northshore High School in 2013. Joshua then went on to attend Duke University from 2013 to 2017, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. In 2015, they also briefly studied Electrical and Computer Engineering/Computer Science at the University of Sydney.
