Mario Lunato 🌩🔒

Mario Lunato has a diverse work experience in the field of security engineering and operations. Mario is currently serving as a Senior Security Engineer at Aquia Inc since February 2022. Prior to that, Mario was a Cloud Security Engineer at Quzara LLC from September 2021 to February 2022. Mario also had a significant tenure at ByteChek starting from March 2021 until September 2021, where they held the position of Cloud Security Engineer. In this role, they had various responsibilities including managing security and product, mentoring and coaching interns, establishing alert systems, implementing MFA for users, monitoring CI/CD pipelines, providing security reports, and implementing security measures to protect cloud networks and resources. Before transitioning to the private sector, Mario worked in the United States Air Force as a Cyber Systems Operator from June 2015 to September 2021, where they managed and mentored airmen, and was a team lead for SCOM-related actions. Mario is skilled in complex business operations, information technology, and security and has effectively collaborated with project managers and directors to deliver successful projects and enhance clients' security posture.

Mario Lunato attended the Community College of the Air Force from 2017 to 2021, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Information Technology. In 2017, they also started their studies at the University of Maryland Global Campus, specializing in Cybersecurity Management and Policy with a focus on Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance. Mario has since been pursuing their degree and is expected to graduate in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Mario Lunato has obtained several certifications. In January 2016, they earned the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA. Mario also achieved the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Cloud Practitioner certification in April 2021. In June 2021, Mario obtained the Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate certification. More recently, in May 2022, they earned the AWS Certified Security - Specialty certification. Mario also holds the Kubernetes and Cloud Native Associate certification from The Linux Foundation, which they obtained in December 2022.
