Michelle Anderson has a diverse background in education, starting as a Social Studies Teacher at Grand Rapids Catholic Central High School in 1996. Michelle then went on to work at Camp Henry as an Assistant Summer Program Director before moving to the University of Pittsburgh as a Teaching Fellow and Graduate Research Assistant. Michelle continued their career at Felician University, where they held various positions including Assistant Professor, Associate Dean of School of Education Graduate Programs, and Associate Professor. Michelle then became the Dean of Academics at LACORDAIRE ACADEMY before taking on the role of Associate Professor and Secondary Education Director at Aquinas College - Grand Rapids in 2019.

Michelle Anderson attended Western Michigan University from 1992 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and Teaching. Michelle then pursued a Master of Arts in Humanities/Humanistic Studies at Central Michigan University from 2000 to 2003. Michelle continued their education at the University of Pittsburgh, where they obtained a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction (Social Studies Education) from 2006 to 2011. Additionally, they hold a K-12 Social Studies certification from the New Jersey Department of Education.
