Kais Hassan, PhD

Kais Hassan, PhD has had a long and varied career in the technology and research field. In 1999, they began as IT Manager at Autographics, where their responsibilities included analyzing and designing a multi-tier system, coding the server side components and developing the main UI. In 2004, they took on a part-time Software Developer/Analyst role at PACSis Limited, where they developed and maintained software packages for both PC and handheld devices. From 2009 to 2010, they were Assistant Professor at Princess Sumaya University for Technology, lecturing undergraduate courses in Computer Science. During this time, they were also a Visiting Assistant Professor at the National Institute of Informatics. In 2011, they became Co-Founder at Ddad IT, where they managed all development and technical activities and was involved in software development. In 2015, they were appointed Chief Data Officer at Altibbi.com. In 2016, they became Co-Founder & CDO at arabot and Data Science Consultant at Atbaki, the largest Arabic social platform for food recipes. Kais's main responsibilities at Atbaki included improving the relevancy of the Solr based search solution and creating a BI/Big Data platform based on Azure Power BI/HDInsight.

Kais Hassan, PhD has a long and distinguished educational background. Kais completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from the University of Hull between 2003 and 2008. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the Princess Sumaya University for Technology between 1996 and 1999. Additionally, they participated in an International Exchange Program in Computer Science at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 1997 to 1998. Kais also has two certifications, a Machine Learning Foundations: A Case Study Approach from Coursera Course Certificates obtained in May 2016, and a Microsoft Certified Professional from Microsoft.
