James Smith has over 30 years of experience in marketing and business development. James began their career at Intel in 1990 as General Manager of Marketing. In 2004, they became the Director of Global Campaigns for Intel's Mobility Group, leading outbound marketing for all mobility products. In 2007, they joined Electronic Arts as COO of Online Marketing, managing online and direct-to-customer marketing efforts. In 2010, they moved to Avaya as VP of Global Marketing, leading a team of 80 global marketing employees and rebranding the company. In 2012, they joined Tesla (SolarCity) as Head of Demand Generation, driving demand creation and consistently overachieving targets. From 2013 to 2017, they were Chief Marketing Officer at GoodData, responsible for global marketing strategy. In 2019, they joined Punchh as Chief Marketing Officer, where they were responsible for driving business growth and aligning the company around consistent positioning and messaging. In 2020, they joined Oomnitza as Chief Marketing Officer and in 2022 they joined ArangoDB as Chief Marketing Officer, where they are responsible for building and scaling the demand generation function.
James Smith attended Holte Gymnasium from 1978 to 1981, where they earned a High School degree. James then attended Copenhagen Business School from 1982 to 1986, studying Marketing.
