Brad Boyer has extensive work experience in engineering roles, with a focus on gas turbine blade design. Brad started their career in 1998 as an Engineering Intern at Lucas Engineers, where they worked as an engineering surveyor and network administrator for two summers. Brad then interned at KUKA Systems GmbH in 2002, where they assisted in designing mobile robotic assembly cells for the automotive industry.
In 2004, Brad joined GE Power & Water as a Turbine Blade Design Engineer, where they specialized in blade design, analysis, and manufacturing support. Brad worked on projects such as large last stage blade development and the redesign of a cored stage 2 blade to fix an aeromechanics issue.
From 2010 to 2013, Brad continued working at GE Power & Water as a Turbine Blade Design Engineer, focusing on blade design for the organization's Advanced Technology and HGP services groups.
In 2013, Brad transitioned to GE Power as a Gas Turbine Blade Design Technical Leader, responsible for leading a team through the design of turbine rotating components for GE's largest gas turbines. Brad faced and successfully overcame challenging integration issues with the turbine rotor design.
Most recently, Brad joined Arbor in 2022 as a Principal Engineer, where they continue to contribute their expertise and engineering leadership.
Brad Boyer has a diverse education history that includes degrees in both mechanical engineering and German language and literature. Brad obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in German Language and Literature from The University of Alabama, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Additionally, Brad attended the Technische Hochschule Augsburg from 2002 to 2003, focusing on Mechanical Engineering. Brad later pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering at the University of South Carolina, where they studied from 2006 to 2008.
