Jeffrey Pearson

Health Policy & Practice Program Director at Arbor Research Collaborative for Health

Mr. Pearson provides scientific and administrative leadership in the Health Policy and Practice Program of Arbor Research, leveraging over a decade of experience in federally funded health services research. Much of his work has focused on quality measurement and value-based purchasing for Medicare beneficiaries with End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).

He currently serves as the Arbor Research project director for the CMS ESRD Services Monitoring and Evaluation where he led the development of a comprehensive interactive dashboard combining various data sources to report timely data on over 60 quality indicators to CMS stakeholders on a monthly basis. He serves in a leadership role on Arbor Researcher’s CMS-sponsored work including across the Research, Measurement, Assessment, Design, and Analysis (RMADA) and the Measure and Instrument Development and Support (MIDS). Previously he served in leadership roles on task orders focused on quality measure development in ESRD, Population Health measure assessment and design, and alignment of quality reporting programs and websites. His areas of expertise include value-based purchasing, health care delivery and payment, program evaluation, quality measurement, public reporting, social determinants of health, and understanding health and health care disparities.

He has experience in managing and leading projects and tasks of various sizes, conducting literature reviews, applying statistical and econometric methods, and mixed methods integrating qualitative and quantitative research approaches. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications, reports for federal sponsors, and over 60 conference abstracts and presentations.

In addition to his role at Arbor Research, Mr. Pearson is also currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Michigan in Health Services Organization and Policy with a focus on health economics. He holds an MS in Survey Methodology from the University of Maryland and a BS in Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics Central Michigan University.
