Max Yuan

Max Yuan has a diverse range of work experience in the technology industry. Max started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at AppEx Networks, where they streamlined the validation process for a network accelerator product. Max then moved on to work as a Research Assistant at the Berkeley Institute for Data Science, where they established a data preprocessing pipeline for a project exploring patterns in the US education system.

Following their time at Berkeley, Max joined Intel Corporation as a Software Engineering Intern, where they accelerated the workflow of the deep learning team by implementing TensorFlow inference support on Intel GPUs and integrating critical redesigns into an internal application. Max then interned at SAP as a Software Engineering Intern.

Max furthered their experience at Apple, where they worked as a Machine Learning Intern. During their time at Apple, they implemented and created a reading comprehension app for iOS devices using transformer networks. Max also gained experience in natural language processing tasks, utilizing the on-device GPU.

Max's passion for research led him to work as a Research Assistant at the Berkeley Artificial Intelligence Research and as a Research Assistant at Big Data in Radiology (BDRad) at UCSF. In these roles, they contributed to various research projects and gained valuable insights in the field of artificial intelligence.

Most recently, Max joined Affirm as a Software Engineer, where they honed their skills and contributed to the development of software systems. Currently, they are working as an Engineer at Arc Technologies.
