Mapi Mobwano

Mapi Mobwano has a significant amount of work experience in the mining industry. Mapi began their career in 2006 with Exxaro Resources, where they held positions as Project Manager and Business Unit Manager. In 2010, they joined Glencore Operations South Africa, working as a General Manager until 2017. From 2017 to 2019, Mobwano served as the General Manager at Anglo American's Sishen Mine. Currently, they are employed with ArcelorMittal Mining Canada G.P. / ArcelorMittal Infrastructure Canada G.P., where they have held the positions of Chief Operating Officer and currently serves as the President and CEO.

Mapi Mobwano completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town from 2007 to 2009. Prior to this, from 2004 to 2006, Mapi obtained a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Mineral resources management from the University of the Witwatersrand. Mapi also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mining Engineering, which was earned from the University of the Witwatersrand between 1996 and 2001.
