Brian Mooney

Brian Mooney has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Brian is currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at the Archdiocese of Detroit since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked as the CFO at the Diocese of San Jose from October 2016 to February 2022. Brian also held the role of CFO at the Ohio Catholic Federal Credit Union from June 2011 to October 2016 and at John Paul the Great Catholic University from October 2009 to April 2011. In addition, Brian has experience as a Staff Accountant II at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Phoenix from September 2008 to October 2009. Before transitioning to the Catholic sector, Brian worked as an Engineer 2 at ATA Engineering from 2001 to 2005. Brian briefly served as the Director of YA Outreach at John Paul the Great Catholic University in 2006.

Brian Mooney earned their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) from The Ohio State University in the years 1994 to 1999. Brian then went on to obtain their Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (MSME) from the University of Michigan during the years 1999 to 2000. Lastly, they attended the University of Notre Dame - Mendoza College of Business and received their Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Management from 2006 to 2008.
