Pieter van Essen

Pieter van Essen is a PhD student at ARCNL since May 2023, following a comprehensive academic journey at the University of Twente, where Pieter earned a Master of Science in Applied Physics (2021-2023) and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Physics (2017-2021). Pieter has held significant leadership roles, including Chairman and Secretary of the Faculty Council Science & Technology at the University of Twente from September 2020 to September 2022, overseeing essential discussions regarding education and research within the faculty. In addition, Pieter was actively involved with S.V. Arago from September 2017 to April 2023, serving on various committees and as the Commissioner of Educational Affairs and Career Activities. Prior experience includes working as an Administrative Assistant at Advocatenkantoor i-ee, a Dutch law firm specializing in intellectual property law, from June 2016 to August 2017. An internship was completed at Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology from October 2022 to January 2023.
