Ron Jacobsen has over 25 years of work experience in various scientific research and program management roles. Ron is currently serving as a Senior Program Manager at ARCTOS since October 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Scientist at Advratech, LLC from February to October 2016, where they focused on R&D projects transitioning from MLPC after its acquisition by Resonetics. From 2005 to 2016, they held the position of Sr. Research Scientist and Principal Investigator at Mound Laser & Photonics Center, Inc. (now Resonetics), where they were responsible for proposal development and had a high success rate in winning SBIR/STTR proposals. Ron also has experience as the Director of R&D at Applied Sciences from 1994 to 2005, where they led programs in the growth and commercialization of carbon fibers and nanofibers. Their research proposals brought in over $5 million in research funding. Prior to that, Ron worked as a National Research Council Associate at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory from 1991 to 1993, studying magnetoelastic properties of carbon fibers and developing a novel method to measure magnetic anisotropy, which led to a patent.
Ron Jacobsen earned a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Ron completed their doctoral studies from 1985 to 1990.
