Marcus Yu

Marcus Yu is a Senior Research Associate at Arcus Biosciences since July 2021, specializing in screening drugs for CYP Induction through a detailed assay process involving primary human hepatocytes. Previously, Marcus held the position of Research Associate II, conducting both the CYP Induction Assay and the CYP Time Dependent Inhibition Assay. Prior experience includes working as a Laboratory Technician at Avellino Lab, where skills in RNA extraction and hazardous materials management were honed, and at Vitalant, focusing on blood separation techniques. Earlier, Marcus gained research experience as an intern at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, engaging in various lab techniques and analyzing neurobiological data. Educational background includes a degree from UC San Diego (2014 - 2018) and attendance at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory (2010 - 2014).
