Joe Round has a diverse work experience in the field of meteorology and systems integration. Joe started their career as a Weather Forecaster in the US Air Force in 2001 and held various roles including Flight Chief of Weather. In 2013, they became a Launch Weather Officer. From 2019 to 2021, they served as a Flight Commander for Space Weather and later as an Assistant Operations Officer. Joe then transitioned to the role of a Joint METOC Officer from 2021 to 2023. Currently, Joe is working as a Future Systems Integration Engineer at ARES Corporation.

Joe Round has a strong educational background in the field of space studies and aeronautics. Joe obtained a Master of Science in Applied Physics (Space) from the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science in Space Studies from the University of North Dakota, where they studied from 2008 to 2013.

In addition to their degrees, Joe also completed two professional certificate programs at Stanford University. Joe earned a professional certificate in Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies in 2012, and a professional certificate in Sustainable Energy and Storage in 2011.

Joe Round began their undergraduate studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in 2003 and completed their Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics in 2008. Before earning their bachelor's degree, they also obtained an Associate of Applied Science in Meteorology from the Community College of the Air Force, where they studied from 2001 to 2008.

Beyond their formal education, Joe holds additional certifications. Joe completed the Space Professional Development Program - Tier 2 from the National Security Space Institute in November 2019. In 2012, they obtained a Private Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
